Increased member attendance at Chapter meetings

• Enhanced chapter meetings by providing CPE, informative discussion leaders, theme meetings, and give-a-ways.

Monthly e-Newsletter for members, with electronic links

• Upcoming meetings and CPE, with easy access to electronic registration
• Variety of information useful to members, including tech updates, IRS info and career tips

Held a Board Retreat to plan ideas to rejuvenate our Chapter and its members

• Reactivated multiple committees; list chairs and contact data in Web site
• Updated and utilize our Web site
• Created a survey to poll our members regarding meetings and CPE preferences
• Inform and educate Board members of their roles/responsibilities for Board, committees
• Provided copies of Robert's Rules for Board members
• Incorporated the Spindletop logo for our letterhead and email communications

Carefully considered feedback from the member survey and made changes as a result

• Held a mix of Chapter meetings at lunch and dinner to fit members' schedules
• Tailored CPE to members' expressed wishes

Actively solicited member input to incorporate amendments to the Chapter's bylaws; unanimous vote to amend as presented

Involved a New CPA committee in planning, hosting a reception to energize the younger members and encourage them to participate

Community image enhancement - friendly competition with local Bar Association in six-month blood drive

Began an outreach campaign to learn how we can better serve our members

• Met with 4-5 large accounting firms to date

Working on a member directory

Wrote Chapter policies for the following issues

• Reimbursement for member travel when representing Chapter at TSCPA events
• Attendance at Board meetings by Chapter members
• Member data privacy
• Inspection of books and records
  

Creating Board member packets for the education of future Boards

• Bylaws, budget for last fiscal year and current year, minutes for last fiscal year, calendar of chapter events from last year, chapter committee descriptions, contact information for fellow Board members, Robert's Rules, list of Chapter VIP's and past presidents

Almost full attendance at all Board meetings.

Started the year by approving a one year contract with TSCPA for administrative services to the Chapter
